December 11 is JES Western Day! Please dress up in your cowboy/cowgirl gear!!!
The 6th grade classes have both discussed, within their independent classrooms, the planning of our Christmas festivities this year. We discussed options of a gift exchange and each class voted strongly to forego the student gift exchange in an effort to give their gifts to others in our county that might benefit.
Each class is planning to donate items and/or a monetary gift in which will be given to our local Concern for distribution. Items of need include personal toiletry items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.) as well as hats, gloves, and pajamas. Please discuss this act of giving with your child and you decide what might fit your gift if you are interested in participating. These will simply be placed under the tree anonymously and I will collect the money for safe keeping until December 18th. All items donated will be delivered to Concern on Thursday, December 17th so that the distribution process can begin on Friday, the 18th, at Concern while we are continuing with our Christmas activities and party. As always, thanks for your help. If you have questions, let us know. Wow, what amazing kids we have that have initiated this act of giving on their own....serving our community. Merry Christmas!
