Student Support Center This is a center that is willing to help students with difficult assignments. They may be allowed to go there during the day with teacher permission. Also, they will have tutoring hours each TUESDAY AND THURSDAY morning and afternoon. Hello! We took a few notes during our JLHS visit! We have listed a FEW pieces of information, below. In no way is this a complete list of information. We thought it may help to have some items on our page. Notes-
-work hard not to be tardy or absent-awards and consequences are given -they have an award known as THE ALL JAYHAWK AWARD...they look for individuals that symbolize what it truly means to be a Jayhawk -dress code (read before you go shopping)...all shorts, skirts, etc. must be below the fingertips, when hands are down to your sides...tank-tops must have straps that are three fingers wide...if there are holes in the shorts or pants, then they must have material behind the holes -7 classes each day...5 core classes...possibility of band, choir, Spanish, shop, PE, sports, technology, careers, computers, art, problem-solving...if you choose band, then you may get to take other items throughout the year...if you choose band AND choir, then you will JUST be in those classes as your electives...they will fill you in at enrollment -PE/sports are at the end of the day ----bring shorts, t-shirts, socks, shoes, small locker (with lock) will be provided -no open lunch -school hours are 8-3:15 pm --if you are absent (even for sports) you will need to make up ALL of your assignments -there will be weightlifting and sports' camps provided this summer (documents attached on our site...your kiddo received a copy) May 16-grade cut-off May 16-6th grade plays staff in a whiffle ball game May 20-6th grade visits the junior high/movie in the afternoon May 21-Bingo in 6th grade for a year-end celebration May 21-Assembly and award ceremony-2:30 pm May 22-Graduation at 8:30 am in the cafeteria (students may leave with written or verbal permission DIRECTLY from a parent to a teacher-you must sign your child out in the after visiting with us) |
